Guwahati: The police have arrested a man from the city’s Chandmari area for allegedly raping his 10-year-old step-daughter.
Police said the minor is the daughter of the man’s second wife with whom he is currently living. He had been allegedly exploiting his step-daughter whenever the mother would be away at work.
The police added that the man had been sexually exploiting the minor for a long time but his crime was never reported.
According to the police report, the accused has been identified as Ravi Kumar Bhowal, who is now in police custody following a complaint filed by his first wife’s son.
