Guwahati: SilaNoi – Jeevan Kite River Festival began this Saturday at the riverbank in the city. The mega event started with a football tournament followed by an author’s meet conducted by Wissenmonk.

The Expedition Music held at Stage B featured Chinmoy, Lalit, Pranjeet, Snehal, Juhin, Irfan, Arijit, and Rehan. Scores of people enjoyed kite flying with a clear sky at the riverbank. An art gallery curated by Imaginary Canvas and Image Animation Graphic Institute hosted more than 100 paintings, photographs and sculptures.

The main stage was graced by the performances of popular artists and bands including Shreebhumi, participants of India’s Got Talent and India Hip Hop championship Sahil Rahman, Dhiraj Kalita, Sushmita Deka and Swastik Shivam.

Achita Rajkumari and Priyanka Phukan performed duet song while instrumental show by Shreebhumi and dance performances by Nishthajita Kalita, Hridoy Prakash Kalita, Jhunuka Institute of Dance. The band performance by Midnight Seranade enthralled the audience on the first day of the festival.

The second day began with Open Street by ESAF and ‘Pedal for a Change’ supported by Guwahati Active Mobility Forum which involved cycling, running, dancing, along with painting and a lot of chatting up.

An art competition was also organized at the festival site. The Hip Hop Kranti Stage featured MC Dida, Mortal, Ammo Bx, Dev, Jazy, Ad Yung, XMX, Lil Deep, Kid Kat and Avk. Ethnic food stalls and handicrafts zone witnessed a large crowd.

A kids zone with fun games besides face painting and caricature also attracted the visitors. Several popular artists are taking part in the festival including national awardee Tarali Sarma, Rupam Bhuyan, Babu, internationally-acclaimed Manoj Barua.
