SIT Submits 12,270-Page Charge Sheet in Zubeen Garg Death Case

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Assam Police has filed a charge sheet in connection with the alleged death of singer Zubeen Garg, describing the incident as the outcome of a premeditated conspiracy.

The 12,270-page charge sheet was submitted before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court following an 83-day investigation. The SIT has named seven accused and detailed their alleged roles in events leading up to the incident.

Investigators stated that the alleged incident took place on 19 September 2025 at a seaside location in Singapore. According to the charge sheet, Garg remained unconscious for nearly 75 minutes before medical assistance was sought, and there was a delay in ambulance response.

The SIT has alleged that the incident followed excessive alcohol consumption during a late-night gathering and a subsequent yacht outing. The charge sheet also refers to alleged risky behaviour and the absence of adequate safety measures. Investigators have further claimed that visual recordings linked to the incident were recovered from the mobile phones of the accused.

Police clarified that the charge sheet contains investigative findings and allegations. They stated that all accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty, and that the case is now before the court for further legal proceedings.
