Sonapur (Assam): A resort owner was found hanging from a tree in the backyard of his resort in Sonapur on Monday.
The deceased was later identified as George Bordoloi, 70, owner of Georgie’s Retreat Eco Camp resort and a resident of Sonapur.
Bordoloi’s body was found hanging from a tree in the backyard of his resort at Hatimura in the Sonapur area. The reason behind the death is yet to be established, a police official said.
Bordoloi was the trailblazer of the dhaba and resort industry in Sonapur. His first venture was a dhaba in Patarkuchi back in the year 1980 for which he became the role model for many youngsters of the area.
Bordoloi had maintained good relations with the Congress for a long time but later joined the BJP.
His body has been sent to Guwahati Medical College (GMC) for post-mortem examination, the results of which are awaited.
