Guwahati: The PG and Int. M.Com semester examinations of Gauhati University have been postponed after its students staged a protest on Friday.
The students were demanding postponement of 1st and 3rd semester exams citing COVID-19 as a reason. The exams were scheduled to start from Saturday.
In a notification issued by the Controller of Examination and approved by the Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University, it states, “Scheduled P.G & Int. M.Com examinations has been postponed. The rescheduled programme will be published later on.”
Earlier on Friday, students had staged a sit-in demonstration outside the varsity campus, demanding the authorities to postpone the examinations as many students were unable to come due the Covid-19-induced situation.
