Guwahati: Former secretary of Assam Cricket Association (ACA), Pradip Buragohain, who was arrested on charges of swindling of funds of the state cricket board has been sent to the jail on corruption charges.

The court sent Buragohain to the jail on Sunday after the end of his two-day police custody.

 The court rejected the plea of the police to keep him in custody for more days and allowed the police to interrogate him in the jail.

The former Assam Cricket Association secretary was arrested recently on corruption charges of misappropriation of Rs 50 crore of ACA funds during his 3-year tenure.

An FIR was lodged against Buragohain by the ACA at the Fatasil police station.
