Guwahati: Assam reported 141 fresh COVID-19 infections and no deaths on Monday, taking the virus tally to 6,18,716, according to the bulletin issued by the National Health Mission here.
The number of active cases currently in the state is 1,093 as against 1,122 on Sunday.
The number of fresh coronavirus cases detected during the day increased to 141 as against the previous day’s 134 with the positivity rate decreasing to 0.40 per cent from 0.59 per cent on Sunday.
Seventy new cases were reported in Kamrup (Metro), followed by nine in Dibrugarh, eight in Lakhimpur and seven in Jorhat.
The new cases were detected out of 35,239 tests, increasing from 22,846 clinical examinations conducted the previous day.
The cumulative tests conducted in the state for detecting COVID-19 have so far reached 2,61.29,495.
The death toll due to the virus remained at 6,133 with no death reported for the third time this month.

The current death rate in the state is 0.99 per cent while 1,347 COVID-19 patients have died due to other causes, according to the bulletin.
The number of patients who recuperated from the infection during the day was 170, higher than the previous day’s 119.
So far, 6,10,143 people have recovered from the disease in Assam and the current recovery rate is 98.61 per cent.
The cumulative beneficiaries who were administered vaccines in the state so far increased to 3,54,52,526 with 1,38,42,819 having received both doses.
