A four-year-old Assamese boy has uploaded a video on Twitter appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking justice for his father who was murdered four years ago.

Rizwan Sahid Laskar, who is from Cachar, lost his father on December 26, 2016, in Cachar’s Silchar town. Rizwan was just three months old at the time of the incident.

Rizwan’s posted his video on Twitter and tagged Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Cachar police. The boy can be seen with a placard that reads ‘I want justice’.

In the 45-second video, Rizwan introduces himself and goes on to say, “Dear sir, when I was 3 months old, my father was brutally killed by 11 miscreants on December 26, 2016, case number 121/2017. Now, I request the Prime Minister, home minister, and respected chief minister to look after this matter and give justice to us. Thank you so much.”

Four-year-old Rizwan’s father was a contractor who was allegedly murdered near his office by sand mafia members. His widow, Jannatul Ferdousy Laskar, had lodged a complaint with Cachar district police and had accused 11 people of being involved in her husband’s killing. A case was registered by the Cachar Police under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Rizwan’s mother told India Today that the accused used iron rods and other objects to murder her husband. She said the police had apprehended nine people, but two others are still free. She was quoted saying, “The accused people are still roaming near our house. We are totally unsafe. We want justice.”

Mohidul Hoque Laskar, Rizwan’s uncle, said he opened a Twitter account for his nephew and helped him upload the video to seek justice. He also said that the nine accused who were arrested managed to get anticipatory bail.
