The food industry is changing. Advancements in technology, changing consumer habits, and COVID-19 have caused a huge increase in demand for online food delivery. This has given rise to the cloud kitchen—a business model that promises to expand delivery services at a minimal cost. Over the past year, we’ve seen several businesses take advantage of these trends, and launch virtual kitchens to bring new concepts to market. One such is JBB Cloud Kitchen in Dandua, Morigaon.

Owned by Pranab Singha, also the founder of a popular home-grown pickle venture – Gharuwa – in partnership with Jharna Bhuyan, the chef at JBB, the menu offers an array of crowd-pleasers, from Indian to Chinese to Italian delights.

“I thought of venturing into the cloud kitchen business due to its growing popularity and could be done in minimal investment. However, my initial idea was to open a resort-style spacious café with an extensive menu and exciting activities. But due to the current situation, we decided to start small and not take a big risk,” says Pranab.

“The menu at JBB is based on a market research study that we did in Morigaon. Jharna curated the menu according to her expertise. We’re receiving great responses so far,” he adds.

The signature at JBB is their Pizza, available in two variants – Chicken Pizza, and Paneer Pizza. Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, loaded with toppings and garnished with herbs, their pizzas are the bestseller.

Another highlight Jharna mentions is the Crispy Chicken Wings, served alongside home-made delicious dips and lime wedges. “It’s like a match made in heaven,” she chuckles.

While these are the best-sellers, the team at JBB feels there’re plenty of other dishes worth exploring. Say, the Chicken Biryani, White Chicken, Egg Pulao, Green Veg Pasta, Chicken Do Pyaza, and Chicken Roll.

Currently, they don’t have a dessert section but they plan to introduce one very soon with Rimlee Mahanta, who is specialised in baking, joining the team. Think cakes, pudding, doughnuts, pies and ethnic sweet treats.

Talking about future plans, Pranab informs that they will be adding more dishes to the menu, while at the same time he is gearing up for the opening of the first cafe in Morigaon by mid of 2022.
