Nagaland govt not taken any decision to lift liquor Act: Advisor Excise

Guwahati: The Assam Government has issued a gazette notification for online liquor delivery in the state, including guidelines like – a person can only order 3 litres of alcohol at once or in a single order.

According to the notification, a delivery person can carry a maximum of 9 litres of alcohol at once.

Further, both consumer and delivery person has to be above 21 years. And the consumers have to upload their documents for age and address proof.

The delivery hours will be between 11 AM and 10 PM and there are currently two categories of delivery charges. For deliveries within 1 KM the charges will be Rs 50, for delivery locations within 1 KM and 2 KM, the charges are Rs 75.

However, online sale of liquor will not be available for hostels of educational institutions, Government/non-Government/semi Government offices and other public and religious places.
