2 'missing' Assam youths seen posing with guns on social media, joined ULFA-I?

Guwahati: Two youths from Kakopathar in Tinsukia district of Assam are suspected to have joined a militant outfit after photos of them posing with guns surfaced on social media platforms.

According to their families, Ashim Moran (18) and Mukut Moran (19) of Dirak village left home for Arunachal Pradesh in search of work a month ago. Since then, both of them have not been in touch with their families.

“He had gone for work in Kharsang (under Changlang district) a month ago. Now, he has shared photos dressed in camouflage outfits and brandishing arms on social media,” Ashim’s father Pradip Moran said.

“If he has joined ULFA-I, then I request its chief Paresh Baruah to send him back as he is a young boy and is not fit for joining the outfit,” Moran added.
