Guwahati: On the occasion of World Turtle Day, images of an animal keeper and a turtle in the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Guwahati, is winning hearts.
In the viral pictures, the animal keeper can be seen feeding fruits and vegetables to a Roofed Turtle at an enclosure in the Guwahati zoo.

World Turtle Day is celebrated every year on May 23 to spread awareness among people to help turtles survive and thrive in their natural habitat.
The special day was founded in 1990 by the American Tortoise Rescue and is celebrated to spread knowledge about turtles and tortoises and protect them and their disappearing habitat around the world.
