Guwahati: After Tinsukia and Jorhat, odd-even vehicle rationing has been imposed in Kamrup Metropolitan district, which includes Guwahati, for private and personal vehicles staring Thursday.
The order is effective from 5 am to 2 pm, May 13 onwards.
This comes after the state government imposed strict measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, along with the order to shut all shops and markets by 1 pm and a curfew from 2 pm to 5 am.

(Example: Vehicle number ending with 0/2/4/6/8 on 14th/16th/18th/20th/22nd May etc.)
However, this restriction is not applicable in respect of government vehicles/water tanker/milk carrying vans, ambulance, LPG distribution vans, vehicles hired/private used for medical duty/COVID-19 duty on production of valid ID proof, and on personal vehicles used for medical emergency.
