Tinsukia: Moved by the plight of COVID-19 patients at a government hospital he visited to make a food delivery, this delivery kitchen in Dibrugarh is now offering free food to poor COVID-19 patients and their guardians.

“I realised the intensity of hardships faced by people only three days back, when I had gone to deliver food at the Assam Medical College and Hospital. That’s when I decided to offer healthy food for free to needy patients fighting Covid-19,” said Sameer Sharma, who runs Rasoighar in Assam’s Dibrugarh.

Rasoighar has been able to deliver about 20 thaalis a day for free.

Sharma says there are many COVID-19 patients who are from other states but admitted at various hospitals in Dibrugarh. “There are also people who can afford food but are unable to arrange deliveries of vegetarian food for their patients. Here, we are helping them by providing pure vegetarian meals.”

Helping people in need is as important as earning money, he says.

Those in need can contact Sharma at 8402983849, 6900794548.
