An on-duty forest guard lost his life after being attacked by a rhino on Friday in Manas National Park in Assam.

The unfortunate incident happened at the Bhuyanpara range of the forest. According to sources, the rhino attacked Animesh Deka when he was out to a nearby market with another forest staff.

Despite opening fire to scare the animal, it attacked Deka, and he died on the spot.

Animesh Deka, who got married just three months ago, was a resident of the Dekapara area of Bhabanipur under the Baksa district.
