Guwahati: In a bid to incentivise voting during the third phase of elections in Assam, Young Indian (YI) Guwahati chapter, the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has come up with an innovative strategy of offering exclusive discounts to people who show their inked fingers.
YI has collaborated with 24 brands in Guwahati, ranging from healthcare, food, automobile, designing, fitness etc. to offer the exclusive discount on their products and services from April 6 to 8.
On how the business network came up with the idea, Arcchit Mittal, Chairman at Young Indians Guwahati said, “This election, we wanted to create a campaign to pursue people to exercise their voting right. The members of the chapter devised this campaign and collaborated with different brands to provide exclusive discounts to all voters at the brand outlets. Kudos to the team!”
Vishal Kumar More, Branding Chair at YI, Guwahati added, “Voting is our democratic right and social responsibility too. We want more people to exercise it and make a positive impact. We are running promotions for this campaign across social media and outdoor mediums to reach out to maximum people.”
Regarding the incentive, he said: “We believe that people get excited when we pamper them with discounts at their favourite outlets, thus we have collaborated with the best brands in the city for the same.”
Nidhi Jain, Partner at White Mogra, one of the brands providing the exclusive deal said, “We have collaborated with Young Indians Guwahati chapter because this is for a good cause and it is also helping us, as a brand to reach out to the mass. So, its a win-win situation for us.”
The multi-designer clothing store is offering a 10% discount from April 6 to 8 at the outlet to all those with an inked finger.
Assam will undergo the third and final phase of elections for 40 assembly constituencies on Tuesday (April 6).
