In a recent event at Majuli, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal declared that the state government is planning to provide free scooters to meritorious male students too in the coming days.
The Chief Minister stated that the scheme to provide scooters to meritorious male students aims to encourage them to attend regular classes. He also mentioned that such an initiative will help them focus on their studies and ease their access to education.
This decision by CM Sonowal follows an earlier decision, where 22,000 meritorious girl students of the state were awarded two-wheelers by the incumbent BJP state government.
