The movie, Foot Prints on Water is based on an illegal immigrant father in the UK who is frantically searching for his missing daughter while avoiding the police. Hussain will portray the character of the father. Meanwhile, actor Antonio Aakeel of Eaten By Lions fame will play the role of an Afghani refugee.

Adil Hussain in Forbes’ 'Best Performances Of 2020' list

The film will portray the lives of immigrants from across nationalities who come to the UK in the hope of changing their lives for good. He began shooting for the film last month.

“Felt a huge relief finishing the shoot for #FootprintsOnWater under strict LockDown in #Birmingham. Tested negative for coronavirus. Hopefully back in Delhi the day after! And quarantine for 2 weeks. Loved being Directed by @NathaliaSyam,” wrote Hussain on Twitter.

Recently, the 57-year-old has also made it into the list of Forbes India Best Performances of 2020, thanks to his stellar performance in the movie Pareeksha directed by Prakash Jha. He has carved a unique space for himself outside Bollywood and regional cinema. He was in Star Trek: Discovery; Life of Pi among other films.
