Assam’s Subhasish Das and his radio drama “The Annoying Tap Water” got listed in the ‘Highly Commended’ section of the International Radio Playwriting Competition 2020 by BBC World Service and the British Council.
The highly-commended section features a total of 13 names, including that of Das, and another Indian, Ketaki Sheth for her work ‘Gone’.
Hailing from Guwahati, Das is an aspiring author, creative supervisor, and also a copywriter. He is also the winner of the ‘Pamper Premium Care Saudi Arabia Campaign Award Contest, 2020’.
He authored the book, ‘Time Machine: Memories from the Eastern Plains’. He is also an avid Copywriter and an advertising fan.
Das said, “Stories are everywhere; hidden at every simplest corner of your house. Just look around and connect the dots. Miracle shall unveil. Thus, the irritating, annoying sound of leaked Water tap of my kitchen has become the premise of the dramatic Radio play – The Annoying Water Tap.”
The global competition offers a unique opportunity for playwrights to use the medium of radio drama to reach an international audience.
