IOCL invites application for BSc Nursing, GNM courses at Assam Oil College
The Assam Oil division of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has issued an official notification to invite online applications for admission into BSc (Nursing) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses at Assam Oil College/ School of Nursing, Digboi.
Interested candidates and those who meet the required eligibility criteria are advised to go through the notice here and apply for the programmes. IOCL has set the last date for sending the scanned copy of the application forms along with all required documents. The date is till December 12, 2020.
The notification specifies that the candidates must be Indian citizens and only unmarried female candidates can apply. While the BSc Nursing course is a full-time regular course to span across four years, the General Nursing and Midwifery course will be for three years. The authorities will be shortlisting candidates for the 30 seats available in each of the courses.
While there are 14 seats unreserved in both the programmes, there are 3 seats reserved for EWS quota, two for SC, three for ST and eight for OBC NCL in both BSc Nursing and GNM courses.
There are certain educational criteria in place as well. Candidates must have passed Class 12 board exams with Science (Physics, Chemistry Biology) and English subjects, with a minimum of 50 per cent marks from a government recognised board for the BSc Nursing programme. The IOCL mentions that 5% relaxation will be given in qualifying exam marks to SC, ST and PwD category candidates.
For the GNM programmes, humanities students with English and Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology or Philosophy subjects, with a minimum of 40 per cent marks in Class 12 board exams can apply. The criteria is the same for Science students as well.
Candidates will be selected based on an online test and upon selection, they will be given a stipend every month. Some additional benefits are also there.
