Pakistan Zindabad video: Congress accuses Himanta of running 'dirty tricks department'
Guwahati: Slamming Himanta Biswa Sarma's claims of Congress supporting anti-national elements, Assam Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi accussed Sarma of "running the dirty tricks department".
Earlier in the day, the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor shared a video on Twitter, saying: "Look at the brazenness of these fundamentalists anti-national people who are shouting PAKISTAN ZINDABAD while they welcome MP @BadruddinAjmal. This thoroughly exposes @INCIndia which is encouraging such forces by forging an alliance. We shall fight them tooth & nail. Jai Hind"
Denying the accusations, Bordoloi said that Sarma will go to any extent. His only agenda is to create division, to polaris, he said. The MP clarified that "either the video is fabricated, or they [BJP] have paid money for it."
Further, he added that this is Sarma's game plan. He wants to create fear psychosis in the minds of the people ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections in 2021.
AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam also rubbished Sarma's claims. He said, "It is clearly a conspiracy by Himanta Biswa Sarma. Not a single member of AIUDF will shout slogans on Pakistan Zindabad. We are a party under Indian democracy, our President is a Member of Parliament, and we work for Assam's existence."
Islam called it "a mere ploy by the BJP government to gain votes by attacking the two political parties" in the run-up to the 2021 state elections.
