Assam: BJP to launch war against ‘love jihad’ if comes to power in 2021: Himanta
Guwahati: Announcing that Assam government will launch war against “Love Jihad”, if the BJP comes to power in the state assembly election likely to be held in 2021, senior Assam BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the present generation in Assam is confronted with ‘Ajmal’ like problem.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Himanta Biswa Sarma along with other senior leaders of the party were participating in the first executive committee meeting of the present BJP Mahila Morcha, Assam Pradesh, held at the Chowkidinghee playground in Dibrugarh.
In his speech, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged the women leaders of the party to create awareness among the masses about the various activities carried out by the state government.
Addressing the meeting, Assam minister for health, education, etc., Himanta Biswa Sarma said that several years ago as India faced threat from Aurangzeb and Babar, the present generation is confronted with ‘Ajmal’ like problem.
Himanta said, “The soldiers of Ajmal had encroached upon Kaziranga, Satras and even posed threat to the one-horned rhino of Kaziranga. If you want to live like a proud Assamese, you cannot take rest. You must wake up, fight and give befitting reply to the forces seeking to destroy the integrity and dignity of the state,” he said.
Himanta further called upon the women leaders to ensure that Assamese girls did not become victims of ‘love jehad’.
He also announced that if his party comes to power, then they will take decision that if any boy hides his religious identity and comments anything negative on Assamese daughters and women, he will face ruthless and rigorous punishment.
