The two times Assam CM was admitted in hospital at around 8:30 pm on Friday as his health deteriorated due to low blood pressure
Guwahati: The health condition of former Assam chief minister Prafulla Mahanta is reported to be stable on Saturday as he is getting treatment at a private hospital here since Friday night.
According to reports, the two times Assam chief minister and the founder president of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) was admitted in the hospital at around 8:30 pm as his health deteriorated due to low blood pressure.
Sources from the hospital said that Mahanta was being treated in the ICU. After continuous monitoring by the team of doctors, the veteran politician is said to be stable now.
Mahanta was seen busy attending different political meetings in last couple of weeks across the state as issues relating to Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), consolidating regional political forces in Assam etc., are gaining ground in state.
Mahanta became the youngest chief minister in the country when he took oath as chief minister of Assam in 1985 at the age of 33 after spearheading six-year-long historic Assam movement.
