Guwahati: U-10 left-winger from Assam, Pritam Brahma, received a surprise gift from Arsenal FC icon and German midfield maestro Mesut Ozil.

Brahma, who represents Guwahati City FC (GCFC) Unicorns in the Greater Guwahati Baby League (GGBL), was selected by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the award, as one of the top players from the top 10 Golden Baby Leagues.

A total of 10 top players from India’s top 10 Golden Baby Leagues were sent the self-autographed Arsenal jerseys by the German legend Ozil through the AIFF to encourage these budding talents for their future endeavors.

Brahma, who played a defining role in GCFC Unicorn’s U-10 title triumph in Assam’s first-ever Golden Baby League ‘Greater Guwahati Baby League’, received a self-autographed Arsenal Jersey from Ozil, after he was selected in deliberations with the coaches of GGBL. He received the best player of the league award for his 18 goals and 12 assists in 20 matches.

GGBL operator and GCFC co-founder Kaustab Chakraborty presented him with a jersey.

The GCBL has been adjudged as one of the top 10 Golden Baby Leagues of the country, among more than a hundred Baby Leagues which are going on in the country.

The second season of Assam’s first-ever Golden Baby League ‘Greater Guwahati Baby League’, saw around 500 kids from more than 50 teams playing every Sunday for four titles at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati, which made it a grand success.
