New Assam BJP team to plan for state assembly polls announced
Guwahati: The Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of its state executive committee members on Tuesday.
This decision of the party assumes significance as the state unit of the BJP will fight the forthcoming state assembly polls, likely to be held within a year from now, under the leadership of the new office bearers, names of whom were announced on Tuesday.
BJP in Assam has already re-elected its Sorbhog legislator Ranjit Ranjit Kumar Dass as state unit president for second term.
Announcing this, Dass has said that the party has given preference to its woman leaders. The party has also announced the names of the office bearers of its various wings.
The members of the newly announced executive committee of the state unit of the party include:
Vice-president: Hemprabha Borthakur, Biju Kalita Medhi, Rekharani Das Boro, Swapnaneel Baruah, Ratan Teron, Pulak Gohain, Jayanta Das and Jayanta Malla Baruah
General secretary: Rajdweep Roy, Topon Kumar Gogoi, Pallab Lochan Das and Phanindra Nath Sarma
Treasurer: Rajkumar Sharma; Assistant Treasurer: Manoj Sharaf
Secretary: Diplu Ranjan Sharma, Kishore Updahyay, Krishnomoni Chutia, Lucy Roy, Sukumar Biswas, Akoni Devi, Benudhar Nath, Taranga Gogoi, Parami Das
