The state conducted its first COVID-19 test on February 7, and today, it crossed the 8 lakh test mark
Guwahati: In a significant milestone towards curbing COVID-19, Assam successfully completed over 8 lakh COVID-19 tests on Tuesday. As per the latest update, the state conducted 802,674 tests.
Informing about this on Twitter, state health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Samra said, "My best appreciation for the hard work by Health Dept teams who continue their mission of tracking & tracing those who may be infected by #coronavirus. Today on July 28, our test figures crossed 8 lakh - 802,674 to be precise.
Well done. Request all to come forward to test."
The roadmap of state's success in tracing and testing started on February 7, when the first COVID-19 test was conducted, and today, it crossed the 8 lakh mark.
Currently, Assam has 17 operational labs to test COVID-19 samples.
