Guwahati: Guwahati-based music band Bottle Rockets India in collaboration with We Care is all set to host a fundraiser e-concert on Moviesaints.com at 8 pm on July 1 to help light up homes in the Cyclone-Amphan ravaged Sundarbans.

The six-piece band fronted by Arghadeep Barua (protagonist of Aamis) will perform live to an online audience to raise funds for Bangla Sanskriti Manch, an entity working to provide relief in Amphan-affected West Bengal. They have been working to provide ration, medicines and shelter through the double tragedy of COVID-19 lockdown and cyclone Amphan in West Bengal.

We Care is a collective of artistes, citizens and ground level workers that continues to facilitate food, transport and medical relief during the COVID-19 crisis and now disaster-hit areas.

Nearly five million homes have plunged into darkness as electricity services have been wiped off in the worst-ever cyclone to have occurred over the last two decades. Talking about the fundraiser even,t Barua said, “My heart goes out to those who have been devastated by the cyclone. Assam and Bengal both face the vagaries of nature, and I can relate to the miseries of people there. It is our service to the larger cause, and we are humbled at this opportunity to contribute to it in small measures.”

Barua has been actively pursuing many social causes, including providing relief to those affected by Baghjan mishap in Assam. He has been lending support to a campaign to save Dehing Patkai wildlife sanctuary and elephant reserve as well.

All proceeds from the e-concert hosted by WeCare and powered by MovieSaints will go to the Bangla Sanskriti Manch. To donate and register to watch, click on http://moviesaints.com/lighting-up-lives-in-the-sundarbans
