5 IAS officers from Northeast nominated by Fame India Magazine

Tinsukia: Five IAS-officers from Northeast have made it to the 'Fame India List of 50 best performing district magistrate of India 2020'.

The officers include two young bureaucrats from Assam - Pallav Gopal Jha and Anant Lal Gyani, two from Arunachal Pradesh - Prince Dhawan and Sang Phuntsok and one from Sikkim, Ragul K.

In it's annual survey released on May 30, Fame India Magazine said the list contains the name of 50 best performing district magistrate of India in 2020 in 50 different categories. Fame India posted the list on Facebook.

Talking to EastMojo, Jha, who is the deputy commissioner of Dibrugarh, said, these are troubled times, and these types of things motivate us and make us more committed in our effort to serve the people. "When I am motivated, my entire team gets motivated."

I learnt about this recognition from a Whatsapp group of my batch mates. "Later, I received information from Fame India Magazine," said Jha adding, eight to nine officers nominated are very close friend of mine and belong from the same batch. "I feel happy and proud that my batch is performing well in public service."

Jha, a 2012-batch officer, has been nominated in "accountability" category.

"In such challenging times, such a recognition motivates and boost the morale to perform even better in public service," Dhawan, who heads Lohit district, told this correspondent.

Dhawan said, it is recognition of the performance of the combined effort of team Lohit. "I felt blessed to get this opportunity in public service, not all get chance to serve the people."

"I was just feeling happy when the news first broke to me this morning through my friends," added Dhawan.

Giving his first reaction to the news, Anant Lal Gyani, deputy commissioner of Dhubri said, there are so many bureaucrats doing so well. "Finding myself in top 50 was slightly unbelievable and made me happy."

"The recognition will further strengthen my commitment to work for uplifting the society and helping people," added Gyani.

Gyani, a 2011- batch officer, has been nominated in "praiseworthy" category.

Phuntsok, deputy commissioner of Tawang, has been nominated in "experienced" category. He said, I am not aware of any such recognition given to me for my performance.

Sikkim’s Ragul K has been nominated in "efficient" category. Repeated attempts to speak to Ragul turned futile.

Fame India undertook a nationwide survey to find out bureaucrats who have created a benchmark for the newer generation in terms of performance in public service.

According to sources, there are more than 5,000 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers working in the country. "Honesty, integrity and impartiality to the core were the basic parameters while carrying out the survey. The other parameters for identification of these officers included - effective governance, sagacious decision-making, responsible working, professional attitude, behaviour with people at large and the ability to take quick and impactful decision."

"These top 50 officers are creating a new milestone of success in their careers, and have been selected on basis of reports from various sources, media reports and departmental reports that could be accessed," the sourced added.
