National Democratic Front of Bodoland will contest upcoming BTC election as independent to implement Bodo peace accord, says general secretary BR Ferenga
Kokrajhar: Attending a welcome ceremony for the Bodo peace accord signatories at Patgaon in Kokrajhar on Thursday, B R Ferenga, the general secretary of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) Saoraigwra faction, said that they will soon be participating in politics.
The general secretary also informed that the NDFB will contest in the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections as independent candidates and for this the organisation is taking decision at a coordination meeting joint a session to be held in Udalguri district.
"We will participate in politics in coming days,” said Ferenga.
Along with NDFB president B Saoraigwra, All Bodo Students Union ( ABSU) general secretary Lawrence Islary and UPPL president UG Brahma Ferenga attended a welcome ceremony for the Bodo peace accord signatories in Patgaon in Kokrajhar district on Thursday.
If some party or organisations extend help to the NDFB organisation in coming days, they will extend support to the parties and organisation in the council elections, added Ferenga.
"There is no word of joining the saffron party,” Ferenga said, demanding general amnesty to all NDFB members.
Lawrence Islary, general secretary of All Bodo Students Union, said, “BTR peace accord was historic and it is paving the way for healthy integration.”
Meanwhile, a warm welcome ceremony was organised at Patgaon in Kokrajhar district on Thursday to offer warm welcome and felicitation to the third Bodo accord signatories.
NDFB-S leaders, including president B Saoraigwra, general secretary BR Ferenga, ABSU general secretary Lawrence Islary and UPPL president Urkhao Gwra Brahma were offered warm felicitation with traditional Aronai and flower bouquets.
