Opposition members severely criticised council chief Hagrama Mohilary and his deputy Kampa Borgoyary for their surprising silence during the whole session
Kokrajhar: The Bodoland Territorial Council ( BTC) Excise Bill, 2019 was passed on Wednesday during the second day of the on-going Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly. The second day too saw absence of BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and his deputy Kampa Borgoyary.
The second day, which is also the last day of the BTC budget session, was held 12 minutes late from the scheduled of the session. The session started from 10.12 am instead of the scheduled time of 10 am and concluded after nearly 50 minutes i.e., by 11am with passing of the Bodoland Territorial Council Excise Bill, 2019.
The Budget session was the last session of the present council from 2015. Ruling Bodoland People's Front (BPF) party has been ruled the council since 2005 till date. The Budget session had passed Rs 569 crore Vote on Account Budget for the council for administration for three-four months next. The session was chaired by Tridip Daimary, Speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly.
On the second day too, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and his deputy Kampa Borgoyary were remained absence.
The Bodoland Territorial Council Excise Bill,2019 was passed in the session which was introduced by BTC executive member for Excise department, Lwmsrao Daimary.
Speaker of BTC Legislative Assembly, Tridip Daimary extended his sincerest thanks to all members of the house and wished a healthy collective gratitude for helping hand healthy conduct of the assembly from 2005 till the end of the session. He said that the House was seen having constructive discussion and collective dedication while running the house from beginning to end.
BTC executive member Lwmsrao Daimary, offered thanks and gratitude message on behalf of the ruling council. He has extended thanks to all members of the House.
Daimary has highlighted over developmental aspects and welfare initiatives initiated by BTC administration since 2003 in the region.
