Bollywood heaps praises on Assam police, CM for Filmfare Awards

Guwahati: Two days after successfully hosting the 65th Filmfare Awards in Guwahati, Bollywood is showering praises on Assam Police and chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal for its efficiency and support is smoothly conducting the show.

Taking to Twitter, Filmfare wrote, "Thank you @assampolice for ensuring a stupendous, smooth & safe experience during the 65th #AmazonFilmfareAwards 2020. A special thank you to respected @sarbanandsonwal ji for so graciously hosting us in #AwesomeAssam."

To this, the state police replied, "Hosting the iconic Black Lady in #AwesomeAssam was a great experience for all of us. Thank you for all the great moments that will last for a lifetime in our memories!"

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar thanked the state police for a smooth experience at the award function. He said, "Could fly in & out in a jiffy only thanks to the superb efficiency of @assampolice."

Replying in its witty style, Assam Police replied to Kumar: "Thanks @akshaykumar! We may have learnt a thing or two about being efficient in a jiffy from the real 'Khiladi' of Bollywood. Dedication wale column me hum @assampolice likhte hain!"

Meanwhile, other A-listers from the entertainment including Karan Johar and Shilpa Rao also tweeted in appreciation of the state police's planning and support for one of the biggest Bollywood award show of the season.

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal thanked the starts and Filmfare for its words and said, "I believe Awesome Assam's partnership with Bollywood will be even more amazing in the days to come."

Also, ADGP law and order GP Singh echoed the state's eagerness in continuing its effortless support if Bollywood chooses to shoot in Assam for its next film.

The 65th Filmfare Awards ceremony was held at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday evening. The event saw the presence of around 80 Bollywood biggies.
