Opposition members expressed unhappiness over tabling Budget as vote of account for BTC due to the surprising absence of BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary in House
Kokrajhar: The two-day budget session for 2020-21 of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Legislative Assembly began on Tuesday at BTC Legislative Assembly House, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
Opposition members expressed unhappiness over tabling the Budget as vote of account for BTC due to the surprising absence of BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary in the House. This is the last budget of the existing BTC Legislative Assembly as BTC election is due scheduled in April next year.
The session was chaired by Tridip Daimary, Speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly. The session was started with Question Hour and question put by UPPL member Nirmal Kumar Brahma. The session discussed on various issues as well developmental aspects in the region.
Apart from Mohilary, BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary and executive member Alindra Mushahary were also absent during the session.
BTC executive members Maheswar Basumatary and Doneswar Goyary said that the budget discussed on the vote of account for four months till the completion of BTC election. Opposition members Ganashyam Das and Rwngwra Narzary (UPPL) termed that the vote of account budget was not acceptable as BTC administration couldn’t meet the hopes and aspirations of the peoples in the region.
