NDFB(S) leader, M Batha unites with family after 25 years 

NDFB (S) deputy chief M Batha joined the rebel outfit in 1996 and underwent training in Bhutan. Batha was known as the bomb expert for his exceptional bomb making and planting skills.

Kokrajhar: After spending 25 years as an armed rebel, operating from the dense jungles of Myanmar and Bangladesh, National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) leader, M Batha returned home on Saturday.

Emotional scenes were witnessed in Daloabari, native village of Batha when he met his family and village seniors.

His younger sister broke down as she hugged her brother who has been away during most of her growing up years. The former rebel leader known for his bomb making and planting skills, was seen seeking the blessings of village seniors by bowing down and touching their feet in the traditional way.

Batha returned home to a hero’s welcome in true traditional Bodo way. Batha was leading the NDFB (S) faction as its deputy chief.

In this exclusive EastMojo video, Batha is seen accompanied by NDFB (S) supremo B Saoraigwra, general secretary B R Ferenga, vice president G Bidai.

Residents of Daolabari village showered flower petals and sang and danced as they welcomed the rebel leaders who had surrendered recently.

“I am very happy and grateful to be back home,” an emotional Batha said.

Batha was also the agriculture secretary of NDFB-S. This is the faction headed by B Saoraigwra.
