Tinsukia: Joining Indian Army is not just about finding a job, but living patriotism to its fullest -- an unmatched reputation which is attached with the uniform.

However, the entry to the elite force is beyond a written test or an interview, as is the case with most of the jobs. A recruitment rally awaits for the candidates to prove their physical fitness to make the way to their dreams and livelihood.

Here is where the Dao division of Indian Army played an important role by imparting free training to 256 unemployed youths, who are all set to take the challenge to join the Indian Army at a recruitment rally to be held in Tezpur in Assam on January 21.

According to sources in the Army, the youths are mostly from the remote areas of Assam's Tinsukia district including Rupai, Digboi, Panitola, Makum, Kakopathar, Phillobari, Dirak, Margherita and Jagun, among others.

Special training nodes were established by the forces at Lekhapani, Digboi and Rupai. "The youths were imparted all necessary training since November 1 last year to help them realise their dream of joining the armed forces," the source said, adding: "Besides physical training, the youths were also prepared for written test."
