The special number will facilitate lodging of complaints regarding cleanliness & services provided by Dibrugarh Municipal Board directly with district administration
Tinsukia: The Dibrugarh district administration has launched a WhatsApp number to facilitate public to communicate their complaints regarding cleanliness and services provided by Dibrugarh Municipal Board directly to the district administration.
The development comes days after the state government "dissolved" the Dibrugarh Municipal Board disqualifing all the 22 ward commissioners over findings on the alleged corruption and irregularities going on in the civic body dominated by the BJP, and directing the deputy commissioner to take charge of the civic body.
Speaking with EastMojo, Dibrugarh deputy commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha said that residents can now send the images and lodge their complaints through WhatsApp messages to the number 9864506331. "The aim is to create a nodal centre right at the office of DC so that the grievances can be looked into by the top level and address them in a timely manner."
"The wards have been divided among various additional deputy commissioners to enhance efficiency in responding to complaints with a farsighted solutions. This will help smooth functioning and build trust among citizens," Jha said, adding, residents can lodge any kind of complaint which is related to or comes under the Dibrugarh Municpal Board jurisdiction.
Recently, on the direction of Jha, the PWD (Rural) launched a WhatsApp number to empower the citizens to lodge road-related complaints.
