NorthEast United FC sets its sights on Indian Super League 6

Our target is to win every match, we are working hard to play good football, says head coach Robert Jarni, ahead of the popular football tournament kicking off on Oct 23

Guwahati: To lift the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) title, the team has to be very careful, work very hard and try to do its best in every session and every match, feels Robert Jarni, head coach of NorthEast United Football Club (NEUFC) in Guwahati on Thursday.

Speaking with EastMojo ahead of the sixth season of the popular franchise based football tournament that is kicking off on October 20, Jarni said, “Our target is to win every match. We are working very hard to play good football and to play good games and make our fans enjoy our football.”

The head coach further went on say that in football there are times of bad moments and in those moments, we need our fans the most. “So, if those moments come in this season, we are hopeful that the fans will be on our side,” he added.

Addressing media persons, NEUFC’s fitness and conditioning coach Jose Carlos said: “Indian players like to work a lot and they like to learn and every time you want to work with them, they are ready.”

Goalkeeping coach Sandip Nandy added: “This year is a new chapter for us. So we want to enjoy and also we want the fans to come out in large number to support us.”

The sixth edition of the Indian Super League will kick off on October 20 and will go on till February 23, 2020. Northeast United Football Club finished fourth in the last season and they are eyeing to become champions in the upcoming league.
