Apart from offering mouthwatering delicacies & good music, the 2-day event will also spread awareness on safeguarding environment, planet & community at large
Guwahati: Celebrating the city’s love and zeal for food, music and good vibes, ‘The Big Burp!’ -- a one-of its kind music and food festival -- is all set to enthrall the residents of Guwahati in Assam on October 12 and 13.
The two-day-long music-cum-food fest will be held at Greenwood Resort in Khanapara on the outskirts of Guwahati.
Apart from presenting savouring mouth-watering delicacies accompanied by music and dance in the happiest tunes and raising glasses to the merriest of times, the festival also aims at acting responsibly and compassionately in safeguarding the environment, our planet and the community at large.
In a noble gesture of making the fest a successful one, The Big Burp! has rolled a list of awareness and sustainability initiatives as a part of its journey.
As a part of such initiatives, the festival aims to launch a 'reduce in plastic usage' campaign by providing the attendees of the festival with a paper cup/bamboo mug for drinking purpose. There will be a supply of free drinking water but no sale of plastic water bottles at the event venue. The organisers of the event have also made it mandatory for the vendors to provide biodegradable bags to customers on purchase of any food/product.
In another such initiative, the festival will also launch a 'Save Hunger & Save Earth’ campaign in collaboration with NGOs and social activists to contribute to their causes and help the weaker sections of society.
The music and dance section of the festival will witness performances by popular rap singer Divine, EDM artiste Ritviz and well-known musical band When Chai Met Toast.
Apart from the much-awaited musical performances, the festival will also feature delicious dishes with a plethora of choices from Tibetan to Mughlai cuisines. And for those happy moments, the fest will also serve drinks for the attendees.
The Big Burp! will also feature a few of the popular food joints from in and around the city including Nawab-o wali Gully, Chinese Gully, Momo Ghar, Go Gaga District, Food on Wheels, High on Dessert, Foodpreneur and Adda Campus.
The Big Burp! is a maiden venture of Guwahati-based youngster Shenaz Akhtar and her company -- Story Creators Innovations Private Limited. The festival will continue with its journey by arriving soon in other parts of Northeast India as well.
