Trio directly involved with cheating-related cases across state, said police; one of the accused is a Class-IV worker in public health engineering department
Kokrajhar: In an endeavour to curb fraud and cheating-relating cases, Kokrajhar police intensified operations and apprehended three persons, including a government employee, on Thursday.
According to the police, Kokrajhar and Guwahati police jointly carried out a search operation against scams which were carried out in the region and duping innocent citizens, when they apprehended the three individuals. The trio were wanted and directly involved with such cases across the state, said the police.
They have been identified as Alok Sen (49) from Kolkata, West Bengal; Pradip Kalita (42) of Jamalpur, Kamrup (rural) and Manoj Kumar Deka (75) of Geetanagar, Guwahati. Kalita is a grade-four government employee working in the public health engineering (PHE) department.
Kokrajhar SP Rajen Singh said that the police administration has initiated strong check on fraud cases and put a close watch on suspected persons.
