At -10 degrees C, the amusement centre provides visitors the thrill & excitement of ice slides, snow sculptures, igloo, dancing area & rest house, among others
Guwahati: Frozen Planet, a new snow-themed park, has just opened its doors to the residents of Guwahati in Assam. A first of its kind in the region, the amusement park offers visitors a real-world feel of a ‘frozen’ place, complete with snowfall and sub-zero temperatures.
The snow-themed park was recently inaugurated in Lokhra.
Speaking with EastMojo, park owner Sanjiv Deka said: “I have visited many snow-themed parks in and outside India and I have seen that we don’t have one here. Then I thought of having the same kind of amusement park here in Guwahati. It took me about three and a half years and now we have already inaugurated.”
“Till now, we have not done any such advertisement except digital marketing, but we are getting good response. And we are expecting more crowds, not only from Assam but also from the entire Northeast,” Deka added.
The amusement park maintains a temperature of minus-10 degrees Celsius all the time. It also provides visitors the thrill and excitement of ice slides, snow sculptures, igloo, dancing area and a small rest house, among others.
When asked the way ahead, Deka said “We are having more things to be added here. We are also thinking of starting an open-air ice skating rink for the first time. Also, we will be putting up different themes in the festive seasons like Puja, Diwali, Christmas and many more. We are also planning something for the New Year.”
“We will be arranging a slot for the kids to celebrate their birthdays in snow and I hope the people of Northeast will accept and they will come forward to enjoy a new experience in Frozen Planet,” added Deka.
