Zubeen Garg enjoys ‘Kanchanjangha’ with visually-impaired students

A group of youngsters from a Nagaon blind school in Assam got the treat of a lifetime when they enjoyed the recently-released film along their matinee idol

Nagaon: Adding a new dimension to the popularity of the recently-released Assamese movie, Kanchanjangha, some visually impaired students from a blind school in Nagaon in Assam were invited to a movie theatre to enjoy the movie on Sunday. However, to their utter surprise, the lead actor and director of the film, Zubeen Garg, also visited the theater and interacted with them after the show.

The group of visually impaired students hailed from Sri Manta Shankar Mission Blind School of Nagaon.

On Sunday afternoon, when they went to watch the movie in a local theatre, their excitement was doubled when they got sit alongside Garg along with some of the actors from the film.

Besides enjoying the movie, some of the blind students event got to sing and deliver some of the most popular dialogues from the film.

Speaking to the media soon after the show, the iconic singer said that it was perhaps for the first time in the history of India that a group of visually-impaired students enjoyed a movie in theatre hall.

“This special incident itself signifies the success of our recent movie, Kanchanjangha, and it has definitely encouraged us a lot,” Garg added.

The popular singer-turned-actor and director further said that a movie should be made in a way that can connect people not necessarily through its visuals but also through its music, emotion, dialogues and other elements.

“These visually impaired students surely didn’t get any cinematic aesthetics of the film, but they were definitely connected to it through its music and emotions,” added the Ya Ali singer.
