Guwahati: In a viral video of the ongoing India-US joint military exercise -- Yudh Abhyas 2019 -- American soldiers can be seen singing and dancing to the Assam Regiment's marching song Badluram ka badan Zameen ke neeche hai.

The light-hearted video was captured during one of the post-training sessions of the 15th edition of the joint military exercise which is being conducted at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington from September 5 to 18.

Indian Army ADGPI posted the video on Instagram saying, "Badluram ka badan Zameen ke neeche hai. Troops of #IndianArmy & #USArmy sharing lighter moments after practicing gruesome Training Session."

The video, which had gone up barely 20 hours ago, has already been viewed over 3.6 lakh times.

Here’s the video:

Exercise Yudh Abhyas is hostedly alternately between the two countries and is one of the largest joint running military training and defence corporation endeavours between India and USA.

During the joint exercise, different scenarios are rehearsed to understand each other's battle procedure better so as to aid inter-operability between the troops of both countries in case of any unforeseen contingency.

The regimental song is a tribute to a fallen rifleman Badluram during the World War II, whose share of ration after his death helped the regiment survive, when the Japanese surrounded them and cut-off supplies.

Here are the lyrics of the song:

Ek khubsurat ladki thi…

Usko dekh ke rifleman…

Chindi khichna bhul gaya…

Havaldar Major dekh liya…

Usko pittu lagaya…

Badluram ek sipahi tha…

Japan war mein ...

Quarter master smart tha…

Usne ration nikala…

Badluram ka badan zameen ke niche hain…

Toh humein uska ration milta hain…

Sabaash… hallelujah…

Toh humein uska ration milta hain…
