Having left Kokrajhar on Sept 2, three out of the six members of the expedition team from Assam successfully scaled the peak in Himachal Pradesh on Sept 10
Kokrajhar: Three members of a Bodoland expedition team successfully conquered an unnamed peak of the Himalayas standing at a height of 6,111 metres in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
After leaving Kokrajhar in Assam on September 2, the six-member expedition team reached the base camp a few days later. Subsequently, three of them successfully conquered the peak at 2 pm on Tuesday.
The team, led by Dr Jagadish Basumatary, then unfurled Indian national flag and the traditional aronai after successfully scaling the peak. Besides Basumatary, the other two members who accompanied him till the summit were Langwna Basumatary and Pungkha Brahma.
Meanwhile, Mananjay Daimary, president of Adventure, an NGO based in Kokrajhar, congratulated the members of the Bodoland expedition team to achieve the feat. The team left for the expedition under the banner of Assam Mountaineering Association in association with Adventure.
