Assam: Charitable trust UFODI observes 3rd foundation day
Guwahati: With a motive to create moral awareness on health and hygiene maintenance, the United Federation of Doctors for Early Diagnosis and Prevention of Disease in India (UFODI) observed its 3rd Foundation day at Tamulikuchi Goverment LP School in 13th mile of Assam’s Kamrup district on Saturday.
As part of the occasion, school students along with few volunteers from the village marched on a rally with the idea to disseminate basic awareness on health, particularly civic sense, environmental hazards, lifestyle and other moral values.
Chaired by Dr Rathangapani Chattopadhyay, UFODI was established in 2016 with a mission of spreading awareness on health and hygiene maintenance for a disease-free and healthy life.
“On our 3rd foundation day, we carried out a small rally through the highway and across the village of 13th mile,” said Chattopadhyay.
The charitable trust visits rural parts of Assam to educate children to lead a healthy lifestyle. Under its project, Health Orientation Program Execution (HOPE), it organises medical health camps in most remote villages where primary health centres (PHCs) are miles away.
The chairman urged the people to come forward and volunteer for such causes. “UNICEF has also taken note of us. We want more people to be a part of this,” he added.
