Assam Class XII board exam results: Meet the commerce toppers

Guwahati: Ashim Sarkar of Vivekananda Jr College, Darrang emerged as the topper in the commerce stream of the higher secondary final-year exams conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), the results of which were declared on Saturday. He secured a total of 474 marks.

Nibedita Gogoi of Crescent Academy, Jorhat and Ayushi Jain of KC Das Commerce College, Kamrup (M) bagged the second rank with 468 marks out of 500.

The third spot was secured by Neha Agarwalla, Gauhati Commerce College, Kamrup(M) with an aggregate score of 465 marks.

The pass percentage for Commerce rose by 2.95% against 2018, and reached 87.59% this year. With 17,797 candidates appearing for AHSEC from Commerce stream this year, 3,796 secured 1st Division, while 5,303 students got 2nd Division and 6,490 pupils passed with 3rd Division.

The fourth and fifth rank holders are Arunabh Nath with 461 marks and Rahul Roy with 460 marks, both from Gauhati Commerce College, Kamrup(M).

The sixth position tied at 459 marks secured by Tanisha Alampuria, Geetanjali Jr College, Nagaon and Ankur Baruah of RD Jr College, Tinsukia.

With 458 marks, seventh spot was shared between Hansika Chawla (KC Das Commerce College, Kamrup(M)), Harsh Golcha (Karimganj Jr College of Science, Hailakandi) and Pratibha Baishya (Nalbari Commerce College, Nalbari).

Both Disha Jain from KC Das College and Priyanshu Agrwalla of Margherita College got 457 marks and tied at the eighth rank.

While Brinda Roy of Vivekananda Jr College in Cachar and Mithlesh PD Sharma of RD Jr College, Tinsukia secured the ninth position.

With 16 marks less than the stream toppers, Muskaan Pachisia, Jagruti Sethia and Ishika Agarwal of KC Das College, Kamrup (M) secured 458 marks and made it to the 10th spot.
