Bengaluru entrepreneur, known for his passion for exotic cars, throttled up his mean machines for a 2-day spin around the hills and plains of Assam and Meghalaya
Guwahati: It’s not common to spot a supercar making its way through the undulating roads of Northeast India. So, when auto enthusiast Boopesh Reddy decided to get two of his prized possessions -- a Lamborghini Huracan and Porsche 911 GT3 -- to the region, all eyes were set on the Bengaluru entrepreneur known for his passion for exotic cars.
Reddy, the managing director of Bren Corporation in Karnataka, went on a two-day spin around Northeast India last weekend. While he took to the Guwahati-Shillong National Highway on Sunday, he went on a cruise on the Guwahati-Nagaon expressway in Assam the following day.
Reddy owns the famous ‘Bren Garage’ in Bengaluru. It houses some of the most exclusive cars in the country. He currently has 10 such cars in his kitty.
After hearing a lot about Northeast India and its beautiful terrain, the business tycoon, who was here on a business trip, decided to bring along two of his supercars. Accompanying him on the trip were a few of his fellow business associates.
“It was an amazing drive to Shillong with a fantastic view. The toll road was nice to throttle up. It was raining heavily when I drove back and I enjoyed driving down the hills in the rain," said Reddy, recounting his his experience on the roads of Northeast, a first for him.
“I had a very warm welcome, the people were very nice to us and they were happy to see such cars which I think are very rarely spotted in the region,” he added.
Reddy brought the two supercars in his personal truck that he generally uses to carry his mean machines across the country. It took a total of seven days for the supercars to reach Guwahati in Assam.
The car enthusiast further said that he didn’t find any obstacle while driving the cars in the region. He said he would love to come back with his cars again in the coming days and go out on drives along other routes of the region.
Chef Manu Chandra, who accompanied Reddy on the drive, said that the handling and performance of the cars were amazing considering the geographical factors of the region. “We were putting a smile on the face of the people of Assam as we drove the two vehicles,” he added.
