Enthusiasts get a taste of sumptuous Continental, Chinese and Indian cusines at the newly-opened bistro in Ganeshguri known for its fusion dishes
Guwahati: Town Hall, a newly-launched restaurant in the heart of Guwahati in Assam, recently hosted a meet for influencers and food bloggers of the region. In a first-of-its-kind food tasting session, participants got to sample some of the sumptuous Continental, Chinese and Indian dishes that the bistro has come to be known for within a short span of its launch sometime in late last year.
The event was held to cash in on the recent trend of the food industry venturing into social media and gaining popularity as well as its audience from that platform. The eatery, known for experimenting with its food and different types of cuisines from across the world, also houses a mocktail bar.
"When I first decided to open this place, I was keen on the idea of serving my own delicacies. I'm myself a foodie and I try to experiment with food," said Prabal Kalita, owner of Town Hall.
Commenting about his experience of the event, Rahul Hazarika, owner of One Stop Kitchen, said: “The place is good and it has a beautiful ambiance. I am enjoying it. I love to explore unique places with interesting foods. In today’s event too, Town Hall is a western concept and something very different. So, it really excited me to visit the place and taste the food here. The menu, too, looks exciting.”
Hazarika has been in the food business for over six years now. “I am also a level-1 wine connoisseur and have my own start-up in Guwahati by the name of One Stop Kitchen. I was in Bengaluru earlier studying about wine and food blogging and have earlier written for Hindustan Times and other publications,” said Hazarika, who started a blog called ‘World of Gastronomy’ about three years ago. “I travel and explore more about food and I believe in tasting all kinds of food and share the experience there,” he added.
Darshana Baruah, a food blogger, who was also a part of the evening, also said she loved writing about food which is trending in Guwahati, the new places and the food across the city. “It’s been six months since I ventured into food blogging and it has been an amazing journey so far. Every day, we can see the food industry of Guwahati evolving and it’s a good thing.
