Guwahati: After PM Narendra Modi’s public meetings in Assam’s Silchar on January 4 and April 11 this year, the Congress is ready to woo the voters of Barak Valley with Priyanka Gandhi, the party’s general secretary for eastern UP, all set to campaign on her maiden visit to the state on Sunday.
As per reports, Priyanka will attend a road show in Silchar to campaign for Congress MP Sushmita Dev, who is also the party's candidate for the Lok Sabha constituency.
The road show is expected to start around 10 am on Sunday, the reports said.
The two seats of the Barak Valley -- Silchar and Hailakandi -- will go to polls during the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 18.
