Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh reported 10 new COVID-19 cases, 12 less than the previous day, pushing the tally to 55,075, a senior health department official said on Saturday.

The COVID-19 death toll in the frontier state remained at 280, as no new fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh now has 141 active COVID-19 cases, while 54,654 people have recuperated from the disease thus far, including nine on Friday, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 99.23 per cent while the percentage of active cases is 0.26, he said.

West Kameng district has the highest number of active cases at 40, followed by Tawang (21), Namsai (18) and East Siang (12), the SSO said.

The northeastern state has tested 11,79,267 samples for COVID-19 till date, including 939 on Friday, Jampa said, adding that the positivity rate in the state stood at 1.06 per cent.

A total of 12,81,606 people have been inoculated in the state thus far, State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung said.
