Tinsukia: In a tragic case, the dead bodies of a watchman and two labourers working at a farm were found near the bank of the Tissa river around 12 km from Longding in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Bakta Bahadur Rai, a resident of Helipad colony in Khonsa; Kumar Pradhan, a resident of Zedua colony in Longding; and Khamnai Wangpan, a resident of Senua village in Longding employed as a watchman in a nearby factory owned by Pongjing Wangpan Senua.
Deputy Superintendent of Longding Police, Banghang Tangjang said based on information, a police team recovered three dead bodies. “The bodies were found with deep cut injury on the neck indicating the use of some sharp object in the murder,” he added.
“The motive behind the murder and circumstances under which the incident took place is still being ascertained,” Tangjang said, adding, “Inquest and post-mortem proceedings have been conducted and bodies have been handed over to relatives.”
The Police registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
Tangjang told EastMojo the culprits are yet to be identified. “We have recovered a machete from the place of occurrence and the case is being investigated,” he added.
