Itanagar: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has decided to defer the 36 hours’ Itanagar Capital Region bandh on August 27 and 28. This decision was taken after a meeting with chief minister Pema Khandu along with Nyishi Elite Society (NES) members and other government representatives on Tuesday at Civil Secretariat in Itanagar.

"In the meeting, the chief minister has informed us that all demands of ANYA have been fulfilled by the state government. However, details regarding district-wise financial status is not yet provided to us," said ANYA president Byabang Joram. He said this at a press conference held at Arunachal Press Club on Tuesday.

Joram also said, “If the government fails to provide us the details, we will go ahead with the bandh."

"Few unscrupulous elements will do violent activities and ANYA will be held responsible, eventually people will blame Nyishi community," said NES president Bengia Tolum.

"That's the reason we decided to urge ANYA to call off the bandh and NES is happy as our youth understood the decision made by the elders," Tolum added.
